Adding New Documents

Creating a VidIn-Expertise Guide

  1. Choose the right folder based on equipment type
  2. Use descriptive naming: equipment-procedure-guide.md
    • Example: turnstile-cabling-guide.md
    • Example: video-conference-troubleshooting-guide.md
  3. Include key sections:
    • Purpose and scope
    • Required tools/materials
    • Step-by-step procedures
    • Visual diagrams (where helpful)
    • Common issues and solutions
    • Safety notes
  4. Format in Markdown for easy editing and version control

Adding Manufacturer Documentation

  1. Place in Manufacturer-Docs folder for the specific equipment
  2. Keep original filenames when possible (helps with updates)
  3. Prefix with manufacturer name if not already in filename
    • Example: Boon-Edam-Tourniquet-Installation-Manual.pdf
    • Example: Poly-X50-Installation-Guide.pdf
  4. Preserve original format (usually PDF)
  5. Note document version/date in filename if available

Document Naming Conventions

VidIn-Expertise Documents:

βœ… Good: turnstile-cabling-guide.md βœ… Good: video-conference-audio-setup-procedure.md βœ… Good: troubleshooting-speed-gate-sensor-issues.md

❌ Avoid: guide1.md ❌ Avoid: Installation.md ❌ Avoid: FINAL_VERSION_2_UPDATED.md

Manufacturer Documents:

βœ… Good: Boon-Edam-Lifeline-Speedlane-Swing-Manual.pdf βœ… Good: Poly-Studio-X50-Quick-Start-Guide.pdf

❌ Avoid: Renaming manufacturer docs unless necessary for clarity

About Proprietary Information

  • VidIn-Expertise guides may contain proprietary methods and competitive advantages
