Universal Pre-Departure Checklist

Scheduling and Logistics

  • Confirmed job date and time
  • Verified and familiarized yourself with the site address
    • Identified parking options and restrictions
    • Printed map if GPS may be unreliable
  • Noted site work hours and access restrictions
  • Confirmed early arrival time if site training is required
    • Note: Busier sites may not provide training on demand
  • Requested product manuals, URLs from PM
    • Reviewed documentation and installation drawings
    • Printed required drawings for field reference
  • Confirmed you meet all site entry requirements
    • Contacted PM to verify access credentials
    • Verified ID requirements:
      • Secure federal office: REAL ID required
      • U.S. military installations: REAL ID or valid military/federal ID required
      • Public federal space (no ID check): REAL ID not required
      • Others as required, PM will verify whats needed

PM Note: Site entry requirements should be researched by VidIn during job ingest to prevent access delays. Gathering location information such as hardware stores, parking, parking pass and other frequently needed details


Contact Information

  • Obtained copies of all site contact information
  • Verified that PM has confirmed your site access
  • Obtained contact information for all other technicians or laborers involved
  • Contacted team members and coordinated arrival time

Tools and Equipment

  • Confirmed all specialized tools required are available and functional
  • Verified PPE requirements and level
    • Note: Many eastern sites now require Type II hard hats
    • Note: Cut Level 5 gloves and full eye protection increasingly common
  • Verified any required software is installed and working
  • Located nearby hardware stores and dining options
    • Note: Some remote sites have no infrastructure nearby—plan ahead

VidIn Minimum PPE Standard

Cut Level 5 gloves and full eye protection are required on all VidIn jobs, regardless of site-specific requirements.


Travel

  • Confirmed special travel arrangements if needed
  • Verified ID requirements (see Scheduling section above)
  • Checked weather conditions and road status
